Voice AI Index

All-in cost is one connected US phone minute, every line item included

The figure counts the platform fee, speech-to-text, LLM, text-to-speech and the carrier leg (Twilio, Telnyx or vendor numbers). The low end uses a budget LLM and voice; the high end uses a mid-tier stack. Premium voices and frontier or realtime LLMs can cost 2–4× more.

Only public pricing pages are used

Every row links to the vendor’s pricing page and the date it was checked. If a vendor publishes no price, the site says so and doesn’t estimate one.

Unverified fields are badged

Values with an Unverified badge haven’t been confirmed in vendor docs or trust pages. Treat them as leads, not facts.

Five costs that sticker prices hide

  1. Billing increments. Rounding each call up to 60 s adds 20–40% on short calls.
  2. Transfer minutes. Some vendors keep billing while a call is with a human.
  3. Concurrency. Included call slots, the price of extra slots and burst multipliers (ElevenLabs bills 2× above its plan limit).
  4. Compliance gating. HIPAA BAAs are often limited to enterprise or high-tier plans.
  5. Carrier leg. Bringing your own SIP trunk usually cuts it to $0.003–0.005/min.

Latency isn’t published yet

Vendor latency claims aren’t republished. Independent time-to-first-audio measurements over PSTN will be added per platform.
